Average You'd just have to remove lots of animation frames and crappify the textures :P. I'm glad we see eye to eye on that one. Perhaps I can extract stuff from my cart, somehow, or the rom. All you need to do is to delete certain maps in the iwad, delete all the flats and just use solid colors, delete all sprite frames except those that face you, remove the save and load game function, and change the music around, and you'll have something resembling SNES Doom.

What I want is a real port without the framerate problems. I found some programs that will allow me to extract the contents of the game, such as the sounds and graphics. So I'll post anything as I find it out. I know that. However, there is no mouse support. You fail to understand my intent here. The idea is that you can play and deathmatch which you could do on the SNES anyway , as well as make levels, for an old school type of Doom.

I was making one, believe or not. I made many sprites so it looks like their always sidescrolling. The files long gone now, pity. God damn, are you people dislexic or something? All that music is is a recorded form of the music on someone's PC. Guys, Job's idea is a good one. Job, good'o on you, and I hope it works out. When you transition from one episode to another, you start from scratch.

I'll start by saying that I'm sorry for bumping an old thread, I don't mean to be a bother. The reason I am bumping though is because I am trying to get a hold of the map wad file for this, and it seems that it has disappeared from the internet.

I am trying to make a collection of every console port of doom as wads, my eventual goal is to have all the ports as a single wad file, and the music as a separate wad, and when I'm eventually done I may post it. Thank you if you are able to help, and again sorry about the bump. I do know a lot of the work is done already, but I want to bring it all into one place for people that want them all like me.

I was looking for working downloads myself and found what seems to be three different SNES mods. Posting here so everything can be found in one place.

While some may say trying to recreate the SNES experience is questionable, I'll be honest: I always found the small differences in the port interesting and I feel playing it at a higher frame rate would improve the experience and allow players to appreciate them as much as I did. It's genuinely an interesting way to replay through Doom. This mod currently is playable, but nowhere near finished. I still have to create Doom 2 assets and do some further balancing.

I also don't think this will be near accurate to the SNES experience until Randy Linden actually releases his source code.
